Over 100 attend IRRV Scottish Association 2013 AGM
A large audience attended the 2013 IRRV
Scottish Association AGM at Falkirk Council Chambers.
There were presentations on the Council Tax Reduction Scheme from Robin Haynes of Scottish Government and retiring Scottish Association President Jim McCafferty and on the Scottish Welfare Fund from Andrew Collinge of Clackmannanshire Council and Gary Smith of Scottish Borders Council.

IRRV Committee of Inquiry into Local Taxation in Scotland
An Inquiry led by the body that represents local taxation professionals has recommended that a new taxation system, based on the market value of homes, is the best option for delivering a stable and fair local tax in Scotland. It suggests that a „Local Residence Tax‟ should replace the council tax system, from an earliest implementation date of 2016.

Best Options for Scotland to be Sought in Local Taxation Inquiry
08/09/2009 / 869A new Committee of Inquiry into local taxation in Scotland has been launched by the revenues professionals who administer the current council tax and non-domestic rates systems. The Inquiry will examine a range of funding options, including property-based taxes and other buoyant sources of funding. Importantly, the review will seek to identify whether there are suitable mixes of funding options. The work is being undertaken by IRRV Scotland, the body which represents local taxation professionals working in all of Scotland’s local authorities
