IRRV Scottish Association AGM 2020

We are delighted to invite you and colleagues to a complimentary half day seminar, IRRV Scottish Association AGM and lunch at the Municipal Chambers, Falkirk, on Thursday 23rd April. are delighted that this year’s AGM is kindly again being sponsored by Alex M Adamson LLP.

The seminar will cover a number of very topical issues across the fields of valuation, revenues and benefits with excellent speakers :

  • Non Domestic Rates – changes and challenges - William McFarlane, Principal Surveyor, Glasgow City Assessors and Kevin Fraser, Principal Officer (Local Taxes), Perth and Kinross Council. This topical session will look at the -Domestic Rates (Scotland) Bill and other key NDR challenges from both assessor and local authority revenues practitioner perspectives.
  • Welfare Reform – the next five years – Les Robertson, Head of Revenues and Commercial Services, Fife Council. With the election in December 2019 of a majority UK Government committed to the welfare reform agenda, this session looks at the impact of this in terms of benefits service delivery and local authority administration to 2024.

This seminar will be chaired by Lesley Henderson, President, IRRV Scottish Association. There will also be ample time for questions and answers and discussion of these vital issues for practitioners – this is an opportunity not to be missed.

The event will start at 10.30am (coffee and rolls on arrival from 10am) and will finish with a presentation to successful IRRV students and the annual general meeting around 12.20pm, followed by a complimentary buffet lunch at 12.30pm. event is entirely free of charge and is not limited to IRRV members and students as it will be of benefit to the wider valuation, local authority and related audience.
