Certificate Qualification 2009/10
We are delighted to advise Scottish local authorities about 2009/10 arrangements for college-based provision of the Certificate qualification in Scotland, provided by the Institute of Revenues, Rating & Valuation.
As you may be aware, IRRV provides a Certificate qualification course aimed at staff in Revenues and Benefits administration in Scottish local authorities. It is also very relevant to other staff – for example Housing Association staff wishing to build an in-depth knowledge of Housing Benefit, or recovery agents’ staff wishing to build an in-depth knowledge of Council Tax and NDR.
The course provides expert tuition covering benefits and revenues law and practice, and is available at two centres – Livingston (West Lothian College – covering both revenues and benefits pathways) and Aberdeen (covering revenue pathway). A number of copies of the full prospectus is enclosed. We would be grateful if you would arrange distribution amongst relevant staff, who can thereafter register by completing the enclosed enrolment form.
We hope your organisation will encourage and support relevant staff to undertake this qualification, which has demonstrable benefits to both the staff involved and to the organisations they are employed by. It is appreciated that geographical considerations prevent a number of authorities from being able to support college-based provision. A Distance Learning course is also available.
Should any staff wish further details of either, they can indicate their preference on the mail/fax back form or by e-mailing the enrolment form to either lrobertson3@clacks.gov.uk or scotland@irrv.org.uk.
Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact IRRV Scotland on 01382 456029.
