IRRV Scottish Association AGM 2010
To mark the IRRV Scottish Association’s annual general meeting for 2010, IRRV is holding a complimentary half day seminar and lunch at the Municipal Chambers, Falkirk, on Thursday 25th February 2010.
There will be informative presentations on the following topical issues :
- Corporate Visiting System – a presentation by Dundee City Council, winner of the IRRV Scottish Performance Award in 2009. The system is a practitioner-led in-house IT application delivering a seamless automated process for visiting activity and will be of interest to all Scottish authorities.
- IRRV Committee of Inquiry into local taxation in Scotland – a progress report on the work of the inquiry team by Brian Jeffrey, IRRV Scottish Association President.
- Debt in Scotland. Last year, Citizens Advice Scotland published its report “Drowning in Debt.” Fiona Campbell, formerly a benefits manager in Scottish local government gives an overview of the debt issue in Scotland and her recent experiences of working with CAB and how local authorities can become more involved in helping tackle debt problems.
The event will start at 10.30am (coffee on arrival from 10am) and will finish with a presentation to successful IRRV students and the annual general meeting around 12.15pm, followed by a complimentary lunch at 12.30pm. The event is entirely free of charge and is not limited to IRRV members and students as it will be of benefit to the wider local authority and related audience.
